How To Get a Job
In order for one to get a job, they must first have a resume to apply. A resume can be put together in any such order as you please, though it must contain some vital information in order to be considered by the heads of the work force. You must also consider whether or not the job you are applying for has any prerequisites as characters who do not comply with the prerequisites will not be considered.
Example:
Armed Guard – Beginning Rank Prerequisites
~ Must have completed 10 threads of at least 10 posts around the Kingdom (5 threads of at least 10 posts for Royal Court)
~ Must have a shift that weighs over 40 pounds OR is taller than 30” at the shoulder.
The vital information needed for a resume is as follows:
Full Name
Age
Gender
Shifts * Please read note below!
Past Work Experience (If none, please write none or N/A)
Rank (Commoner/Royal Court)
Why You Want Said Job
As long as all of your vitals are on your resume, you can decorate it as you please. Some jobs will be fonder of flashy and bright resumes (Merchants for example) and others will care more about past work experience and will be lax on duller resumes.
When you have your resume done, go to Iridestrial Square and apply to the place that you wish to get a job from by posting your resume in the Resumes section. You may apply to two different job factions at any given time. Younglings should be cautious of where they apply as only Adults can change their careers. Therefore Younglings will be stuck with whatever job they are accepted into until they become Adults.
*For the shifts section post dimensions (Weight, height, abnormal markings or anything you think will help you get the job). Use the dimensions assigned to you by staff when you got said shift. Please, post the 175x175 picture you were assigned for your shifts as visual assistance for the staff (also so you don't have to describe markings and colours for all of your shifts =]) You DO NOT have to post all of your shifts if you don't want to. Pick and choose the ones that are most likely to get you the job though you never know if one of those hiring will overlook your resume because of a shift you didn't advertise.
Jobs and Shift Examples
Monies are not hard to come by, so long as you can get yourself a job and depending on your character's parents careers and your characters learned forms it can be easy as pie or hella difficult. Each job in the listings below has titles and amounts paid for each. Now, how do you get your monies?
To redeem monies by working a job one must first make a thread in an area that has to do with their said career. So a Farm Hand would make his or her post in the Farmlands, a Full Guard who protects the Royals would have his or her thread in Van Guarde Castle. Your working thread CAN double as a rp thread, though if it doesn't you will have a chance to make a little extra monies on the side
So, you post your initial post (minimum of 300 words for a working post) and you automatically get the amount listed for making a thread. Congrats! Then every subsequent post after that you can redeem for the 'per post' amount. If you are not roleplaying in your working thread then a staff member may reply to your thread with a to-do list of some sort which can earn you more monies if you get the job done in the alotted time (usually anywhere from 24-72 hours depending on what's on the list) and hey! If you have to make a new thread to find quail eggs in the plains, then you get to redeem for even more monies for making a new thread! Catch my drift?
Jobs are a good thing to have =)
* Note: Work posts have to be within a work thread marked with a [W] and they have to be made by the person redeeming for the monies. UNLESS both characters are working in which case either of the two can make the thread and both can redeem for the appropriate monies.
